8/28/73 Marc Riboud took this picture, at 217 Randolph Place, NE, Washington. We (Charles & I) lived here, in the small studio belonging to Mrs. Paul (Suzanne) Bartlett, from (I think) 1942 to 1953 when we made the move to BMC. Even that early — it's a question — did the photographer snap me w/ my eyes closed, or did I close my eyes at the moment of the snap? Anyway, a very happy period when Marc, Françoise, Jean visited. — Handwritten note on back of print
